Cristiano Ronaldo Scripts History With 25th Straight Scoring Season, Closes In On 1000-Goal Landmark

Cristiano Ronaldo scripted history after scoring for Al Nassr during their 4-0 win over Al-Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo started on the bench and was introduced in the 62nd minute after he replaced Abdullah Al Ham, and it took the veteran just 21 minutes to hit the net.

His goal in the 83rd minute was his side’s fourth and sealed an impressive result for AL Nassr.

The goal helped  add another feather to his already illustrious career. Ronaldo is now the first player in the world to score in 25 consecutive seasons for his clubs, surpassing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored in 24 successive campaigns between 1999-2000 and 2022-23. Ronaldo’s streak began in 2002-03, when he started his senior career with Sporting CP. Ronaldo Inches Closer To Historic 1000th Goal

Meanwhile, this was Ronaldo’s 977th career goal, and he is now just 23 goals away from the magical 1000-goal feat. In his career, Ronaldo has scored 450 goals for Real Madrid, 145 across his two spells with Manchester United, 101 for Juventus, five for Sporting and 130 for Al Nassr, along with 146 goals for Portugal. Ronaldo recently hinted at his retirement and said that this is probably his last year in football. “This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy,” Ronaldo told Vogue in an interview published earlier this month.

If Ronaldo plays most of his club’s games till the end of his contract in June 2027, he should get plenty of chances to cross the 1000-goal landmark.
