Four BJP leaders have resigned from party posts, accusing them of ignoring the Koli community in Navsari, Gujarat. The protest is that people of their community were not given place in Navsari district leadership.
Navsari: Four BJP leaders from Koli community in Navsari, Gujarat have resigned from party posts. This step has been taken after Navsari district leaders are accused of ignoring their community during the announcement. Those who resigned include District Vice President Ashok Patel, Bakshi Panch General Secretary Vijay Patel, Kisan Morcha General Secretary Prakash Patel and Jalalpur Taluka Panchayat member and BJP District Organization Secretary Chetna Patel.
The resignation letter was given to Navsari District BJP President Buralal Shah. When Buralal Shah was not in the office, the four leaders placed resignation letters on his office table and left. The Koli community is an influential force in the Jalalpur assembly constituency. Their demand was that people from their community should also be given place in district leadership positions. He had demanded the posts of District President and General Secretary. But, he was given only the post of Vice President. This is the reason for resignation.
RC Patel of Koli community is a BJP member from Jalalpur assembly constituency. At the same time, Navsari Lok Sabha seat is also represented by BJP leader CR Patil of the same community. Ashok Patel has said that he shed his blood, sweat and tears to strengthen BJP in Navsari, but his desire to reach a higher position in the party was not fulfilled and this is the reason for his resignation.
