UP Forensic Institute: To speed up crime investigation in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has launched the expansion and new techniques of forensic science labs. From cybercrime to DNA testing, modern facilities are being tightened on criminals.

Forensic Science Labs in uttar pradesh: In order to strengthen crime control and justice system in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has made a great expansion of forensic science laboratories. Before 2017, there were only 4 laboratories in the state, but now this number has increased to 12. Along with this, the first forensic institute of the state has also been established, which has given the youth an opportunity to make a career in the forensic sector.

Why was forensic expansion done?

Under the Yogi government’s zero tolerance policy, the use of technology for effective action against crime and criminals was increased. Through high -tech systems like forensic technology and NAFIS, the police is able to identify the criminals and match unknown bodies. This has made the process of punishing criminals even more effective.

Now 12 active laboratories in the state

So far, forens are also operated in Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra and Ghaziabad besides Jhansi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Bareilly, Gonda, Aligarh and Moradabad. The government has also started setting up 6 new laboratories in Ayodhya, Basti, Banda, Azamgarh, Mirjapur and Saharanpur.

Revolution in identification of criminals with NAFIS technology

About 4,14,473 fingerprints have been digitized in the state through the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS). This has made the identity of criminals and unknown bodies easier and intensified.

Forensic institute and international conference

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the three -day international summit at Uttar Pradesh State Forensic Science Institute on Monday. In this, experts from all over the world will discuss issues such as cyber crime, multilateral legal framework and strategic counselor.
