A 34 -year -old woman conspired to kill her after getting fed up with her criminal husband. After killing her husband, her body was thrown into a canal in another state and started a new life with her lover.
But a mistake by the husband’s phone and a lover exposed the whole. Accused wife Sonia has told the police that she married 42 -year -old Pritam at the age of 16. Married her despite his family’s objections. He lived in Alipur, Delhi and has a son and two daughters.
Pritam was addicted to intoxication and was involved in several crimes including possessing illegal weapons, robbery and kidnapping. Sonia has told the police that her repeated attempts to convince Pritam to leave intoxication and crime failed. He used to come home drunk and beat him. In 2023, he met a cab driver named Rohit on social media, who has a criminal history. The relationship between the two started and finally they decided to get married. But Pritam became a barrier. Sonia then decided that Pritam would have to die to start a new life.
Sonia has told the police that she had a fight with Pritam on July 2 last year and went to her sister Deepa’s house in Sonepat, Haryana. Rohit took him to Sonepat. On the way, he asked her to kill Pritam so that they could live together. Rohit has been involved in four criminal cases earlier, including a murder case. After that he started the work of cab driver on the Delhi-Sonipat route.
Rohit told Sonia that he would not be able to kill Pritam and asked Sonia to arrange 6 lakh rupees so that he could rent a killer. Sonia did not have enough money. The conversation did not move forward and Rohit left Sonia’s house.
Murder of 50 thousand
On July 5 last year, Pritam went to Sonipat to bring Sonia home and there was a debate between the two again. Talking to kill him, Sonia contacted her sister’s brother -in -law Vijay. Vijay said that he will kill Pritam for one lakh rupees. Sonia said that she can only arrange Rs 50,000. The deal is settled.
Pritam again urged Sonia to go home with her. He refused and asked him to stay at his sister’s house that night. Then Sonia told Vijay to finish Pritam the same night. Pritam and Vijay slept down, while Sonia and the rest went to the terrace. Vijay killed Pritam, wrapped his body in a sheet and threw it near the drain. Sonia got Pritam’s phone and kept it with her.
A few days later, Pritam’s body was found in the drain. He could not be identified and the matter got cold. To get rid of her chase, Sonia lodged a missing report in Alipur that her husband has been missing since July 5. He gave Pritam’s phone to Rohit and asked him to destroy.
Conspiracy for open murder like this
A team of Crime Branch came to know that Pritam has been missing for several months. Then he came to know that his wife had lodged a missing complaint, but no clue was found. When the police tracked Pritam’s phone, it was found that it was being used and his last location was Sonipat. Despite Sonia’s saying, Rohit did not destroy Pritam’s phone. The police kept an eye on Rohit. Eventually, he was interrogated in custody.
Rohit first tried to divert attention and said that he had bought the phone from someone, but later spewed the whole truth. After Rohit, the police questioned Sonia. Sonia also admitted to giving money to Vijay to kill Pritam. He also told that after putting Pritam’s dead body, Vijay had sent her photos to her.
