CPIML MLA Mahanand Singh Jailed: There was a stir in Bihar politics when CPI-Male MLA Mahanand Singh from Arwal was sent to jail in judicial custody in a 24-year-old case. The action was taken in the court of Jehanabad subdivision judicial magistrate Anish Kumar on Monday, when the MLA himself surrendered in the court.
In which case MLA Mahanand Singh gets jail
The case is in the year 2001, when a charge was registered against him of obstructing government work under the Nagar police station number 67/2001. During the initial hearing of the case, the MLA once took bail, but after that he never appeared in court. The court took his absence seriously and took summons, bailable warrants, non-bailable warrants and finally attached action against him. Despite this, when he did not appear, he was declared a fugitive in the year 2022.
