New Delhi: United States President Donald Trump on Friday lashed out at NATO allies, calling them a “paper tiger” and “cowards” for not supporting the US in its war against Iran. He also said that the US would remember their stance.
Taking to his social media platform Truth Social, Trump criticised NATO for not “joining the fight to stop a nuclear-powered Iran”. He further claimed that the conflict has now been “militarily won”, even as allies complain about high oil prices.
“They complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but don’t want to help open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military manoeuvre that is the single reason for the high oil prices,” he said.
He added that it would be easy for them to act and with very little risk. “COWARDS, and we will REMEMBER!” he wrote.
