Moradabad: In a shocking incident, a man and his wife were stabbed to death in their residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad. The couple was murdered in front of their three minor children, the police said on Wednesday.
Sharing details, the police said that the couple was killed over a disagreement on a house deal. While two of the six accused have been taken in custody, one among them was held after an encounter with the police. The incident reportedly occurred in the Nala locality of the city on Monday night.
Assailants fled the house after murder
The accused entered the house and then reportedly stabbed Raja and his wife until they died on the spot. The murder took place near their minor children. The youngest among them is one-and-a-half years old. Two other kids are seven and four-year-old respectively. The assailants fled the house after the murder.
The initial probe suggested that a financial dispute over the purchase of a house. Raja purchased a room from Faheem for Rs 2.24 lakh. After the victim paid him Rs 2 lakh, Faheem later started demanding Rs 40,000 rather than the remaining Rs 24,000 for the registry, which increased tensions between the two.
According to the police, the murder seemed to be the result of a monetary dispute. “”The accused have been identified and teams have been formed to arrest them. They will be apprehended soon,” he said, as per PTI.
Case filed against 6 accused
The case has been filed against five accused and one unidentified man. The two bodies have been sent for post-mortem. One of the accused has been arrested after an encounter on Wednesday evening.
“In retaliatory firing, the accused sustained a bullet injury in his leg and was apprehended. He has been admitted to the district hospital,” the police added. A country-made pistol and cartridges were recovered from him.
