This time, people are preferring traditional sweets and dry fruits as well as decorative items, puja material, technical equipment and health related products as gifts. Like every year, this time too the Diwali crowd is at its peak. People are in a last minute race to find the perfect gift.

Yukti Nagpal, director of Gulshan Group, said that about 25-30 percent more people are coming to their mall in Noida this time. He said, due to the reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST), the sale of expensive gifts has increased by 15-20 percent. There is always a demand for sweets and dry fruits during festivals. Khoya sweets are the most popular traditional sweets in festive gift packages. About 60 to 70 percent consumers prefer sweets and dry fruits.

There is a lot of demand for online bakery products

Online bakery brand Bakingo has noticed that people are now more attracted towards personalized gift packages and sweets that are a blend of Indian and foreign flavours. Bakingno expects 20 to 30 percent more sales this year compared to last year. Meanwhile, high-quality craft chocolates from Manam Chocolates are emerging as an alternative to traditional sweets. These are attracting consumers who are looking for unique and great gift options.

Chaitanya Muppala, founder of Manam Chocolates, said, people are liking our Indian flavored chocolates. This Diwali, there has been a record demand for chocolates from both old and new customers. Now people have started considering it as a modern and suitable option to give on festivals.

Increased sales of health related products

Health related gifts are also becoming very popular this Diwali. Along with dry fruit boxes, turmeric tea, spice kits, demand for fitness related subscriptions, coaching plans and health gadgets is also increasing. Electronics and home appliance manufacturing company Sharp India said that the demand for small health-centric products like car air purifiers has increased by 131 percent. Fitness app Fitter is also seeing a rise in popularity of coaching subscriptions, smart rings and fitness plans.

Jitendra Chouksey, founder of Fitter, said, now people are not just buying sweets or household items, but are choosing gifts that prove to be useful in the long run. They are showing concern and care for the good health of their loved ones through options like fitness plans, coaching subscriptions and health consultations.
