New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Congress while addressing a public gathering in Meerut, saying, “The country knows you are already naked,” as he accused the party of turning a global platform into “dirty and naked politics”.
The remarks came at a public gathering after he inaugurated the country’s first Namo Bharat RRTS and dedicated the entire Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor and Meerut Metro to the nation on February 22. The project will cut the travel time between Delhi and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh to just 55 minutes.
The 82-kilometre Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor has 16 stations connecting the urban centres of Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Modinagar and Meerut with Delhi. Built at a cost of around Rs 30,000 crore, the project aims to improve connectivity and make commuting easier for people living outside the national capital.
While addressing the gathering, he hit out at Congress he claimed that infrastructure projects earlier were slowed down by corruption and delays whereas his government had accelerated connectivity across the country.
