The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of Rs three lakh on VLCC Limited for publishing misleading advertisements related to the treatment of weight loss.
The CCPA said in a statement on Saturday that the fine has been imposed on VLCC to publish misleading advertisements about the treatment of obesity and weight loss on VLCC. The statement said that the investigation found that the VLCC was rapidly claiming to lose weight rapidly in the same session, which was much higher than the real approval given by the coolsclipping machine, causing consumers to mislead. The company claimed to have reduced obesity in one session in its publicity.
Due to this, the CCPA imposed a fine of three lakh rupees on VLCC and has also issued some guidelines, which the company will have to follow in its future advertisements strictly.
What claims did the company claim?
