This vehicle has been seen doing road testing on a large scale in different parts of the country. This indicates that the Sierra EV is now in its final stages before production.

The Sierra EV is expected to find its place in Tata’s line-up of electric vehicles as a mid-size premium SUV. In terms of price, it will be above Tata Curve EV. This 5-seater SUV will target customers who want strong road presence, a luxurious cabin and a long driving range. If reports are to be believed, this vehicle can have the option of single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) as well as dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD).

This SUV will be built on Tata’s special Acti.ev Plus platform. It is a skateboard-style EV architecture, which has been designed for different electric vehicles of the future. There are also indications that some important parts of the Sierra EV will be taken from the Tata Harrier EV.

Talking about the battery, along with the 55 kWh unit, a larger battery pack of 65 kWh can also be found in it. The variant with the larger battery pack is expected to offer a real-world range of more than 500 kilometers on a single charge. Apart from this, it may also include features like fast charging, vehicle-to-load (V2L) support and bi-directional charging.

What will be the special feature of Tata’s Sierra EV?

In terms of design, the new Sierra EV will come with modern EV styling while retaining the heritage of the old Tata Sierra. Its special identity will be the closed grille at the front, full-width LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and split headlamp design. Apart from this, new alloy wheels, flush door handles, muscular wheel arches and connected LED light bar at the rear add to the look of the vehicle.

A high-tech layout with three screens has been provided inside the cabin. It will include a digital instrument cluster, a large infotainment screen and passenger side display. The top variants are also expected to get many modern features like Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, powered front seats, ambient lighting, connected car technology and dual-zone automatic climate control.
