But only sweating is not the reason for this, and there are many reasons which can cause smell from the body. Often people ignore the smell coming from the body as just sweating.
But when this smell remains every day, despite bathing and also on applying deodorant, then taking it lightly is not empty of danger. Because the strange or sharp smell coming from the body is sometimes a sign of a serious disease. The smell or unusual smells with rashes, itching or redness on the skin begins to come (eg fruit, like urine, like fish) or if sweat starts coming without any reason, then medical help should be taken.
It is normal to sweat after heat or hard work, but when the body starts to smell continuously and that too like different smells like ammonia, sweet-like, or fish, then it can be a sign of any problem going on in you. - Diabetes
In diabetes patients, if the sugar level increases a lot and there is a deficiency of insulin, then the condition of diabetic ketoacidosis – dka is created in the body. In this condition, the body smells sweet or fruit. This can be a dangerous situation that can also cause coma or death without treatment. If such a smell starts coming from the body of a diabetic person, contact the doctor immediately. Also, the smell coming from the breath can also be a part of this.
- Liver or kidney disease and strong odor
Kidney and liver work is to remove toxins from the body. If there is any malfunction in these organs, then these toxins start accumulating in the body. Kidney failure patients may smell like urea or urine. Liver damage patients often smell like raw meat or fish, which is called “fetor hepaticus”. These signs are very serious and require medical examination immediately.
- Thyroid discomfort and smell of sweat
Thyroid hormones control our body metabolism. When this balance deteriorates (hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism), the body may sweat too much or the skin can be dry. In hyperthyroidism, the body remains very hot and sweaty, which can cause more odor. At the same time, due to dry skin in hypothyroid, the risk of fungal infection increases in it, which causes smell.
- Fungal or bacterial skin infection
In the rain and summer season, fungal infections in parts of the body (such as armpits, waist, thighs) are common. During this time there can be redness, itching and smell on the skin. Bacteria called Corynebacteria produce pungent smell in the body with underarms and feet. Fungal infections like Tinea Corporis also increase the amount of smell and sweat. Do not ignore them, timely treatment can be cured.
- Digestive system malfunction
If your digestion is not functioning properly, the problem of gas, acidity or constipation in the stomach persists, then there can be a strange smell from the body. Many times the body is not able to remove toxins, which causes them to come out through the skin or breath and produce smell. The stomach is not clean, the imbalance of bacteria in the intestines and the lack of fiber are the common reasons.
