Bihar Elections 2025: Congress announces 6 more candidates, taking the total to 59. Despite the conflict with RJD on Kahalgaon seat, tension in the grand alliance has increased due to fielding of candidates. Negotiations on seats are still going on.
Patna: Amidst the excitement of Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the tension regarding seat distribution within the Grand Alliance (RJD, Congress, Left parties) is still not over. Meanwhile, Congress has released another list of its candidates on Sunday. 6 new names have been included in the new list, with which the party has so far announced its candidates for a total of 59 seats.
Six new names in the new list, old faces also get a chance
According to the new list of Congress, ticket has been given to Surendra Prasad Kushwaha from Valmikinagar, Abidur Rehman from Araria, Jalil Mastan from Amour, Tauqeer Alam from Barari, Praveen Singh Kushwaha from Kahalgaon and Vinod Chaudhary from Sikandra (reserved) seat. Many of these names are of old faces of the party, while some have got the assembly ticket for the first time.
Clash again on Kahalgaon seat
With the release of the new list, a situation of controversy has once again arisen within the Grand Alliance. Both RJD and Congress were staking their claim on Kahalgaon seat. Now, by giving ticket to Praveen Singh Kushwaha from this seat, Congress has made it clear that it is in no mood to adopt any kind of compromise policy.
59 candidates declared so far
Congress has announced 59 candidates so far. Earlier, names of 53 candidates were released in two lists. However, talks are still going on between RJD, Congress and Left parties regarding seat sharing.
