Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh on Thursday said that a “comprehensive discussion” is underway in the state’s assembly to outline a strategic plan for the state’s growth.
Swatantra Dev Singh lauded the BJP-led government’s law and order in the state. “In the last 8 years, the rule of law has prevailed…Over the past 8 years, significant changes have occurred, including the absence of riots, hooliganism, and corruption, which have contributed to the development.”State’s Jal Shakti Minister said that the discussion will result in the formation of a committee and a booklet to prepare a roadmap for 2047, outlining the strategy to achieve the goal of a developed state.
“A booklet will be created from the discussions, and a committee will be formed to deliberate. Following their deliberations, a roadmap for 2047 will be prepared, outlining the timeline and approach for achieving this goal. The Finance Minister has given this responsibility to the Chief Minister. Discussions are ongoing about where we will take the country by 2047,” he said.
However, Congress leader Aradhna Singh said that the discussion is more focused on listing the “shortcomings” of the previous government rather than outlining a vision for 2047.
“The way the government’s side, whether ministers or their members, is being presented, they are only listing the shortcomings of previous governments or talking about their current schemes; nowhere is their vision for the future visible,” she said. She also alleged that the UP government is avoiding discussion on a strategy to provide employment, increase GDP and give relief to farmers.
“They are not discussing how they will provide employment to the youth in the future, how they will increase Uttar Pradesh’s GDP… or how farmers will get relief, there is no discussion on these matters… The government is holding this discussion just to set its own record. The opposition is asking every question to the government, but the government has no answers,” Aradhana Mishra said.
