Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent has once again come under scrutiny after a complaint was filed against casting director Mukesh Chhabra and Netflix India over alleged inappropriate language used during an episode of the show.
According to the complaint filed by Anurag Shrivastav, he arrived in Mumbai on the evening of September 22 and was watching Netflix on his laptop from his hotel room when he came across an episode featuring actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, actor and YouTuber Bhuvan Bam, casting director Mukesh Chhabra and stand-up comedian Kaustubh Agarwal, along with host Samay Raina as part of the panel.
The complainant alleged that while watching the episode, he came across objectionable statements and believed they could have a serious social impact.
The complaint specifically refers to an alleged statement by Mukesh Chhabra: “Mere Aaram Nagar mein aao, g**** *****.”
“In the said episode, Mr. Mukesh Chhabra appears as a panel member. While watching the program, he was allegedly heard using highly inappropriate, objectionable, and sexually suggestive language, stating: ‘Mere Aaram Nagar mein aao, g**** *****,’” the complaint stated.
It also noted that the authenticity of the statement, the identification of the voice and person, the complete context and the exact timestamp would need to be verified from the original and unedited recording.
The complainant further alleged that if the statement is established as authentic, it raises concerns regarding the dignity of viewers and the cyber safety of children.
The complaint also sought an investigation into Netflix India’s role and questioned the basis on which such content was allowed to appear on the streaming platform. It further sought an investigation into the role of Monika Shergill, Netflix India’s content chief.
India’s Got Latent has previously faced controversy. In February 2025, content creator and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia faced widespread backlash over remarks concerning parents and sex during an episode of the show’s first season.
