A founder gave his employee 1 month paid leave for her mother’s illness. Inspired by this step, the employee returned and did excellent work. This example of employee care went viral on LinkedIn and was widely praised.
While companies are taking anti-employee measures in many parts of the world, a post shared by a founder is attracting everyone’s attention. He told how he gave leave to one of his employees with one month’s salary due to her mother’s illness. The post also states that when she returned to work after a month, she started working with even more energy. Divya Aggarwal, co-founder of social media growth company Bingelabs, has shared this note on LinkedIn. He wrote, ‘Last year, a team member needed a month’s leave. His mother was ill and needed full-time care.
The employee had said that she could work in the evening and would also attend work-related calls. But, the management asked him to take leave for a full month. Not only this, he was also told that he would be given the entire month’s salary. The employee was surprised to hear this. Divya Aggarwal says that due to this decision two of his projects were delayed. But, when the employee returned to work a month later, she did some of the best work the company had done this year. It is further written in the post that he did not do this because of any favor, but because he realized that the company did not just support him for a word, but really took care of him.
Many people have commented on this post. Divya Aggarwal has been praised in most of the comments. People say that many Indian companies do not know what work-life balance is.
