Delhi AIIMS
Every day 15 to 18 thousand patients come to OPD in AIIMS. Some of these patients are also admitted. Family members of some of these patients are often seen staying on the road outside AIIMS. Now even though it is cold in Delhi, some attendants are sleeping outside, although AIIMS says that all the people sleeping outside are not attendants. There are proper arrangements in AIIMS for the stay of the family members of the patients. The attendants do not need to sleep outside. There are also some dharamshalas including two big rest houses in AIIMS Delhi. There is a total provision of 2 thousand beds in these. Where accommodation and food facilities are provided at low cost.
Dr. Reema Dada, Professor and Incharge of Media Cell at AIIMS Delhi While talking to TV9, he told that there are two big rest houses in the AIIMS campus itself. One of these rest houses has 1500 beds. This rest house is towards the Trauma Center in the campus of AIIMS. Apart from this, there are 280 beds in Power Grid Vishram Sadan and about 250 beds in two other Dharamshalas together. AIIMS Jhajjar (NCI) also has Vishram Sadan which has 806 beds, but patients and their families are not aware that such facilities are also being provided by AIIMS. Where Vishram Sadan has better accommodation and food arrangements for the attendants at just Rs 20 per day. There are also double and triple bed rooms, although these cost a little more.
All information is available on the display board
Dr. Reema told that information about how many beds are vacant and how many are filled in Vishram Sadan is also given on the display board there. Information about how many rooms are available is also available on the real-time dashboard. This does not cause any problem to the attendants. Blankets are also provided in Vishram Sadan during cold weather. Clean water and basic facilities are available.

Dr. Reema told that this facility is not limited only to the patients of AIIMS Delhi. Relatives of patients undergoing treatment in any AIIMS of the country can register online here. Due to this, people coming from outside do not have to wander after reaching Delhi.
This is how Vishram Sadan is registered
To get a room in Vishram Sadan, the patient’s doctor has to write a recommendation for Vishram Sadan on the prescription. After this the registration process is completed. Space is available as per room vacancy. There is a minimum stay of seven to 14 days for the attendants. This can be increased or decreased according to the condition of the patient.
Security and other facilities
Full care has also been taken of security in Vishram Sadan. CCTV cameras are installed and the premises are monitored. Special emphasis is given on cleanliness and discipline. Dr. Reema says that the attendants should take advantage of the facilities available in the Vishram Sadan of AIIMS.
