“Cocktail 2” is set to make its OTT release on Netflix India on August 14, 2026. Directed by Homi Adajania, the romantic comedy-drama stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.
The film was released in theatres on June 19, 2026, and went on to become a commercial success. It is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit “Cocktail” (starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty), which tells a new story with a modern take on love, relationships and friendship.
The story follows Kunal (Shahid Kapoor), a talented chef, and Diya (Rashmika Mandanna), an architect who have been in a committed live-in relationship for almost ten years. Facing growing pressure from their families and society to get married, the couple decides to take a romantic holiday in Sicily, Italy.
Their trip changes when they meet Ally (Kriti Sanon), Diya’s glamorous and free-spirited old friend. Worried about Kunal’s commitment, Diya asks Ally to flirt with him as a “loyalty test.” However, the plan goes wrong when Kunal and Ally develop real feelings for each other. What begins as a simple test soon leads to jealousy, heartbreak and difficult choices involving love and friendship.
Despite competition from subsequent releases in the following month, such as “Dhamaal 4” and “Alpha”, “Cocktail 2” became the sixth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2026. It earned Rs 104.56 crore net in India, Rs 123.38 crore gross in India, Rs 42.96 crore overseas, and Rs 166.34 crore worldwide. It is Shahid’s third-highest grosser after “Padmaavat” and “Kabir Singh”.
