Yogi Government Diwali Gift: Yogi Government has given a big gift for women and bus drivers before Diwali. Under the Ujjwala scheme, 1.86 crore women will get two free LPG cylinders in a year, while roadways drivers will be given incentives on festivals.

Before Diwali, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has given a big gift to the people of the state. On one hand, 1.86 crore women will be given free LPG cylinders under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, while on the other hand, incentive amount has also been announced for bus drivers and conductors. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the LPG cylinder refill scheme in a function organized at Lok Bhavan on October 18.

Women will get two free LPG cylinders in a year

Under this new initiative of the state government, two LPG cylinders will be given free of cost every year to women from weaker families. This scheme will be implemented in two phases –

  • First phase: October 2025 to December 2025
  • Second phase: January 2026 to March 2026

The total expenditure of the government on this scheme will be Rs 1500 crore, and the subsidy amount will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this step is a major effort towards providing relief to poor women and reducing household fuel expenses.

Additional buses for passengers during festive season

The Uttar Pradesh government has given special instructions to the transport department to ease travel during festivals. The incentive period has been declared in the state from October 18 to October 30, 2025. During this period, additional bus services will be run on major routes like Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur and Kanpur so that passengers do not face any inconvenience.

Incentive amount for bus drivers and conductors

Managing Director of Transport Corporation Prabhu Narayan Singh said that the drivers and conductors who will perform duty continuously will be given additional incentive amount.

  • For those doing duty for 12 days: ₹400 per day, ₹4,800
  • For those doing continuous duty for 13 days: ₹ 450 per day, ₹ 5,850

This decision of the government has been taken keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the passengers during festivals.

Yogi government’s double gift

On one hand, women are being given financial relief by giving them free gas cylinders, on the other hand, the spirit of service is being honored by giving incentives to roadways employees. The government says that its priority is to provide safe and convenient travel experience to every citizen on festivals like Diwali, Bhaiya Dooj and Chhath.
