Yogi adityanath on sikh gurus:Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha at Padleganj, Gorakhpur was seen on Sunday. The occasion was the arrival of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Arriving here, he recalled the legacy of Sikh Gurus, their valor and sacrifice. Yogi not only gave the head with reverence, but also clarified that the Sikh tradition is part of the same lively stream of Sanatan culture, which considers sacrifice to protect religion and nation as supreme.
Why is there so much discussion on Sikh tradition?
In the last eight and a half years, the UP government has taken several concrete steps towards the honor of Sikhs and the development of their religious places.
- From modernization of gurudwaras, new buildings and facilities were expanded.
- For the first time, the history of Sikh Gurus was involved in the syllabus of schools in UP.
- “Khalsa Chowk” started in Lucknow and “Sahibzada Day” at the government level.
These initiatives made it clear that now the Sikh tradition is not only reverence, but is getting the place in both education and society, which he is entitled to.

What is Panch Takht Yatra plan and why is it special?
The recently launched “Panch Takht Yatra Yojana” is considered to be the biggest example of Chief Minister Yogi’s vision. Under this scheme, there is a provision for the devotees of UP to have the five Takht Sahibs of Sikh Panth- Shri Anandpur Sahib, Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Shri Damdama Sahib (Punjab), Shri Hazur Sahib (Nanded, Maharashtra) and Shri Harmandir Ji Sahib (Patna, Bihar).
Not only this, every devotee will also be given financial assistance of up to ₹ 10,000. This step shows the government’s commitment, which is not limited to declarations, but focused on connecting faith with facilities.
Historical relationship between Sikh and Nath tradition
Yogi Adityanath often emphasizes that the stream of Sikh Gurus and Nath tradition is the same, both have the original patriotism and sacrifice. The relationship between Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Gorakhnath sect was not only a spiritual dialogue, but also a symbol of shared cultural heritage. For this reason, when the Chief Minister pays obeisance in the gurdwaras, it is not just a formality, but an attempt to advance this relationship.
What is the difference with previous governments?
This is the same Uttar Pradesh, where previous governments are entangled in appeasement politics. The sacrifice of Sikh Gurus did not find a place in courses and public life. But Yogi Adityanath changed this view. Now not only his sacrifice is being remembered, but has also become an important part of the cultural identity of the state.
