Reiterating the government’s commitment towards the promotion of sports and players, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that sports facilities will be provided to every village, block and district of the state. The government plans to build sports grounds in every gram panchayat, mini stadiums at the block level and big stadiums at the district level. Along with this, sports colleges will be established at every divisional headquarters.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was addressing the prize distribution ceremony of MLA Sports Competition-2025 organized under Gorakhpur City Assembly constituency on Monday. Gorakhpur will get international stadium, regional stadium is being renovated

The Chief Minister informed that an international stadium will be constructed in Belipar area of ​​Gorakhpur. Apart from this, the Regional Stadium of Gorakhpur is being renovated at a cost of Rs 63 crore. The construction of a stadium with modern facilities is also in progress at Veer Bahadur Singh Sports College.

Session of Major Dhyan Chand Sports University starts in Meerut

CM Yogi said that the academic session of the Sports University established in the name of hockey magician Major Dhyan Chand in Meerut has started. The construction work of this university is being done as per world class standards. The next preparation of the government is to establish sports colleges at every divisional headquarters.

Institutions should adopt a sport, government will give full support

The Chief Minister said that he will soon hold a meeting with all the institutions of Gorakhpur metropolis. In this, an appeal will be made to the institutions to adopt one sport each. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while sharing future plans regarding the MLA sports competition, said that next time sports competitions will be organized for children and students as well as working and retired people. The competitions will be conducted starting from ward level to suburban and city level and the winners will be honored at a big function.

The Chief Minister said that competitions for children and students will be organized at three levels – basic, secondary and higher education – in boys and girls category. On similar lines, cultural competitions will also be organized in Gorakhpur.

Competitions in art forms like singing, playing, dance and drama will be held in the first week of January. The winning participants will be honored in the main event of Gorakhpur Mahotsav from 11 to 13 January.
