CM Yogi said- ‘If you play, you will play’, UP won All India Kabaddi Competition 2025

CM Yogi honored the players in the All India Men’s Kabaddi Competition-2025 and called upon the youth to join the sport. UP became the winner. The government is providing jobs, practice facilities and incentives to the players.

Gorakhpur, 4 December: Giving a message to the youth to join sports, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Prime Minister Modi also expects that every youth should participate in at least one sport. He said that “If you play, you will play” is not just a slogan but an important principle of life. Making special mention of the team spirit, enthusiasm and unity of Kabaddi, Yogi said that India has had a strong tradition of sports since ancient times.

CM Yogi honored the winners of Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj Seventh All India Prize Money Men’s Kabaddi Competition-2025 held at the Regional Stadium.

All the efforts of life are accomplished only by a healthy body.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that religion and all means of life are successful only when the person is physically healthy. Keeping fitness keeps the body healthy and a person is able to perform better.

He said that in the last 11 years, due to the inspiration of PM Modi, sports culture has grown rapidly in the entire country. The result of this is that the performance of Indian players has continuously improved in the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth and World Championships.

MP-MLA sports competitions, “Khelo India” programs and sports centers being built at various levels across the country have created new energy among the young players.

Sports infrastructure is developing rapidly in UP

The Chief Minister said that earlier there were three sports colleges in the state. The government aims to build a sports college at every commissionerate headquarters, a stadium at every district headquarters and a mini stadium at the block level.

He said that the Finance Commission money received by Panchayats is now being spent on sports grounds, open gyms and promoting sports activities.

Major Dhyan Chand Sports University is being built in Meerut and its first session has also started this year. The stadium, indoor halls and other facilities of the university are being developed in line with Olympic and international standards.

The Chief Minister said that the 2030 Commonwealth Games will be held in Ahmedabad, which will be a historic opportunity for Indian sports.

12 teams and 168 players took part

The competition has been organized continuously for seven years. This time 168 players and 24 coach-managers from 12 teams participated.

Participating states and institutions included teams from Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, North Eastern Railway, Indian Army, JB Academy and Uttar Pradesh.

UP winner, North Eastern Railway runner up – CM congratulated

CM Yogi congratulated the winning Uttar Pradesh team and runner-up North Eastern Railway Gorakhpur.

He said that the UP government is providing huge facilities and incentives to the players. The player who brings a medal in the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth or World Championships will be given a government job directly.

Yogi said that the players have also been given the posts of Deputy SP, Tehsildar and other important posts.

He declared:

The period of participation in the competition will be considered as part of the player’s employment.

Players who get government jobs will also be given full time and facilities for practice.

Till now more than 500 players have been adjusted in government jobs.

Different categories of awards have also been announced for participating in various sports and winning medals.

Sports develops team spirit and discipline

The Chief Minister said that this game has become very popular due to Kabaddi League. In Kabaddi, raid, tackle and bonus point are not just the technique of the game but symbols of youthful energy.

Every sport strengthens the spirit of discipline, self-confidence, quick decision making and teamwork among the youth.

He said that sports teaches that success comes through collective effort, this is the strength of the new India.
