Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while conducting a high level review meeting of the state on law and order ahead of the festivals, directed the officials to intensify monitoring on social media during the upcoming festive season, warning of strict action against those spreading fake news or rumours online.
During the high level meeting with senior officials on Friday, CM Yogi said that that any mischievous attempt to disturb peace must be dealt strictly. “Monitoring of social media should be done in every district and strict action is to be taken against by the police against those spreading fake news”.
He also instructed that DM and SP must personally visit the site of any untoward incident without any delay and take necessary action. CM instructed the officials that criminals should fear the law while people must have confidence in the police.
The review meeting was conducted ahead of the festivals including Navratri, Dusshera, Deepotsav and Diwali. In the meeting CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized that festivals are a sensitive time and directed officials to remain vigilant and police to take strict action against any unruly elements trying to disrupt the festive season. He also said that senior officials of police and administration department should ensure comprehensive preparations for the rollout of Mission Shakti 5.0 and a bike rally of women police personnel should be held in all 75 districts on September 21.
He also directed that complaints received through IGRS, CM helpline and other means should be resolved promptly to the satisfaction of the people.
