UP News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to take action under NSA against black marketing and adulteration of fertilizers in UP. Officials have been ordered to ensure sales at fixed rates and conduct surprise inspections, so that farmers do not face any problems.
Lucknow, December 16:- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has bluntly said that those selling adulterated or fake fertilizers and anyone involved in black marketing of fertilizers will not be spared. Strict action will be taken against such elements under the National Security Act (NSA).
CM Yogi’s instructions to review daily fertilizer
The Chief Minister said that if the Annadata farmer faces any problem regarding fertilizer, accountability will be fixed and no matter what level the culprit is, he will not be spared from action. In a high level meeting held on Tuesday in the presence of Agriculture Minister and Cooperative Minister, the Chief Minister gave strict instructions regarding proper availability and smooth distribution of fertilizers in the state. He said that the Cooperation and Agriculture Minister should review the status of availability and distribution of fertilizers daily. Direct monitoring will be maintained on every district from the Chief Minister’s Office and any kind of irregularity in fertilizer distribution will not be accepted at all.
CM said that negligence will not be tolerated
The Chief Minister directed that District Magistrates, Additional District Magistrates and Deputy District Magistrates themselves should conduct surprise inspections of fertilizer shops and committees. There should not be over-rating under any circumstances and fertilizer committees should remain open compulsorily as per the prescribed period. DAP, urea and potash should be made available to farmers only at fixed government rates. Wherever irregularities are found, accountability should be fixed immediately. The Chief Minister also said that the activities of the officers deployed in the field will be continuously monitored. If collusion or negligence is revealed at any level, an open vigilance inquiry will be conducted. His clear message was that there is no place in the state for those who try to create a fertilizer crisis or create artificial shortage.
This much urea is still kept with the UP government
In the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that a total of 9.57 lakh metric tons of urea, 3.77 lakh metric tons of DAP and 3.67 lakh metric tons of NPK fertilizers are available to the farmers in the state till December 16, 2025. 3.79 lakh metric tonnes of urea is available in the cooperative sector and 5.78 lakh metric tonnes of urea is available in the private sector. In DAP, the availability of fertilizer was reported to be 1.47 lakh metric tonnes in the cooperative sector and 2.30 lakh metric tonnes in the private sector and in NPK, 0.88 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer was available in the cooperative sector and 2.79 lakh metric tonnes in the private sector.
54,249 metric tons of urea is being distributed in UP every day
The Chief Minister was also informed that sowing of Rabi crops is almost complete and urea is being distributed for top dressing of wheat crop. Compared to last year, the sale of urea has been higher during this period and currently an average of 54,249 metric tons of urea is being distributed daily. The Chief Minister directed the officials that despite the availability, no farmer should have to wander for fertilizer, this is the top priority of the government.
