On the occasion of the death anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached GPO Park in Lucknow on Friday and garlanded the statue of Gandhiji and paid emotional tribute to him. In an atmosphere full of reverence and respect, the Chief Minister kept silence for a few moments and remembered Bapu. During this time, a serious and sensitive atmosphere was seen in the entire campus.
Program organized with reverence and respect
In this tribute program organized at GPO Park, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation by paying floral tributes at the Gandhi statue. He not only paid tribute formally, but also remained silent for some time and gave the message of assimilating Bapu’s thoughts and contributions. The public representatives and officials present in the program also paid tribute to Gandhiji.
GPO Park echoes with hymns
During the tribute ceremony, school children presented Mahatma Gandhi’s favorite hymns. The entire GPO Park echoed with the melodious tunes of ‘Raghupati Raghav Rajaram’ and other bhajans. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath kept listening to the bhajans with concentration for about 15 minutes. He appreciated the presentation of the children and also got a group photo taken with them in front of the Gandhi statue.
A call to follow the path of truth and non-violence
On this occasion, the Chief Minister called upon the common people to adopt the ideals of truth and non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi. He said that Bapu’s thoughts are as relevant even today as they were during the freedom struggle. To strengthen the values of social harmony, morality and humanity, it is necessary to implement Gandhiji’s principles in life.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his X handle. He wrote that Bapu’s honest conduct, practice of non-violence and his compassion towards humanity will always guide the entire world. He appealed to the countrymen to adopt the ideals of Gandhiji in building a developed, just and prosperous India.

On this occasion, many public representatives including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, MLAs Neeraj Bora and Jai Devi, Legislative Council members Mahendra Singh, Mukesh Sharma, Ramchandra Pradhan, BJP Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi were present. Everyone paid tribute to the Father of the Nation by offering flowers on his portrait and statue.
