CM Yogi transferred ₹944.55 crore to the accounts of 18.78 lakh students through DBT in the scholarship distribution program in Lucknow. Taking aim at the opposition, he said that due to corruption in the previous governments, the benefits of the schemes did not reach the poor.

Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday made a strong attack on the opposition in the scholarship distribution program organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in the capital Lucknow. He said that how can a father who wakes up till 12 o’clock be concerned about the education of poor children. In previous governments, due to nepotism, corruption and negligence, schemes like scholarships could not reach the needy.

Scholarship amount reached the accounts of 19 lakh students through DBT

The Chief Minister said that under the fair and transparent DBT process for the financial year 2025-26, scholarship and fee reimbursement amount of ₹ 944.55 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of 18,78,726 students of the state. On this occasion, he also wished the people of the state on the 77th Republic Day.

DBT ended corruption in scholarship

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the previous governments never gave priority to the education of the children of the poor. He said that those who wake up after sunrise do not understand the importance of sunrise. Such people can neither care about the state nor about the poor.

CM Yogi said that control of corruption is possible only when intentions are clear and policies are clear. Earlier scholarship schemes used to fall victim to nepotism and departmental corruption, but now through DBT, money is reaching the students’ accounts directly in one click, without any discrimination.

Big gift to students on Republic Day

The Chief Minister said that this program organized on the eve of Republic Day is an important step towards social justice and inclusive development. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “preference for the deprived, priority for the backward”, he said that the government’s aim is that no student should be deprived of education. Through technology, e-governance has been transformed into easy governance, thereby ensuring transparency.

Scholarship changed students’ lives: CM Yogi

The Chief Minister shared examples of successful students by benefiting from the scholarship. Referring to a student who became a computer assistant in Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Generation Corporation, he said that making daughters self-reliant is the biggest achievement of the government. Government schemes are making the youth self-reliant and making them partners in nation building.

Information about historical reforms in education structure

The Chief Minister said that under Operation Kayakalp, the picture of council schools has been changed. Now schools have better buildings, teachers, facilities and quality education. He also mentioned pre-primary education in Anganwadi centres, nutrition mission, Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya, Atal Residential Schools and composite schools.

From Abhyudaya Coaching to Sports University

CM Yogi gave information about the facilities for preparation of NEET, JEE and UPSC under Abhyudaya Coaching Scheme. Also underlined the government’s focus on skill development, robotics, drone technology and sports infrastructure. Sports grounds are being constructed in every village, mini stadiums at block level and Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut.

Crores benefit from social security schemes

The Chief Minister said that crores of people have been benefited through Old Age Pension, Disabled Pension, Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme and National Family Benefit Scheme. He said that all this has been possible with the spirit of “nation first” and not with the thinking of “family first”. Students are the future of developed India and the government is committed to making their dreams come true.

Many ministers and senior leaders were present in the program

On this occasion, Panchayati Raj and Minority Welfare Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, Minister of State for Social Welfare Aseem Arun, Minister of State for Backward Classes and Disabled Empowerment Narendra Kashyap, Minister of State for Minority Welfare Danish Azad Ansari and SC/ST Commission Chairman Baijnath Rawat and many senior leaders were present.
