Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Dev Sai flagged off Surya Rath on Monday. On this occasion, he said that today people are selling solar energy and selling it. Chhattisgarh is fast moving in the field of green energy.

Raipur. In Chhattisgarh, consumers of solar energy are now not only energy producers, but also energy donors. The state is moving towards achieving the goal of clean energy through PM Surya Ghar Free Power Scheme. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on Monday while addressing the solar energy awareness and encouragement campaign organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur.

The Chief Minister flagged off the Surya Rath with the aim of giving information about the benefits of solar energy, PM Surya Ghar Ghar Power Scheme and the subsidy under it. He sent a total state subsidy of Rs 1.85 crore online to each of 618 consumers’ accounts at the rate of Rs 30 thousand.

Vishnu Dev Sai said that climate change and continuous increasing pollution is a matter of serious concern for all of us. It is our good fortune that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of net-gear carbon emissions by 2070. Chhattisgarh is playing its role with full dedication and capacity in achieving this goal.

He said that by promoting solar energy in the state, the work of moving towards free electricity is being done by moving beyond the electricity bill. It is a matter of pleasure that the people of the state are moving towards adopting clean energy, understanding the importance of this scheme. The public is urged to connect the people around them with this scheme and contribute to making the state forward in the direction of clean energy.

The Chief Minister informed that the central and state governments are providing subsidy to consumers together. In the coming time, people will get the benefit of completely free electricity. The beneficiaries have been awarded letters of awards under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana. With these schemes, consumers themselves are selling electricity by producing solar energy and are also getting the benefit of cheap electricity.

CM Sai said that in 2014, PM Modi had resolved to provide electricity every house through Saubhagya Yojana. At that time 18 thousand villages of the country were in darkness. Today electricity has reached all those villages. Now the country is moving rapidly towards clean and green energy.

He said that in the year 2000, the power generation capacity in Chhattisgarh was only 1400 MW. Today the state is producing 30,000 MW of electricity. It is also providing electricity to the neighboring states. Under the new industry policy, MoUs worth Rs 3.50 lakh crore have been signed in the energy sector. In the coming time, the energy production capacity of the state will increase even more.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Chhattisgarh will become the leading state of the country in the field of energy production. He appealed to all the citizens to take advantage of the PM Suryaghar Free Power Scheme and should fulfill their active participation in achieving the goal of clean energy.

In the program, first Soni, a student of class 12th from Rajnandgaon before the Chief Minister, gave his views on the features of solar energy and the efforts being made by the government to promote it. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released the ‘Impact of Distributed Renewable Energy on Grid Stability’ and ‘Agrivoltike Performer Handbook’.

On this occasion, outstanding vendors who played a special role in the implementation of PM Suryagh Free Power Scheme were also honored.

The program was attended by MLA Motilal Sahu, MLA Purandar Mishra, CREDA Chairman Bhupendra Sawni, Secretary of the Department of Energy, Dr. Rohit Yadav, CRED CEO Rajesh Rana, Indian Solar Energy Federation President Suman Kumar, Managing Director of the three Power Company and a large number of solar power consumers.
