Due to the policies of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, there has been rapid development in the manufacturing and startup sectors. The MSME sector with 4.26 lakh manufacturing units, 47% women-led startups and 30% GDP contribution in the state has become the new hub of investment.
Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh is no longer just an agricultural state. It is fast emerging as the new manufacturing and startup hub of India. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, there has been such a change in the industrial environment, investment policy and startup ecosystem in the state, which has attracted the attention of investors from India and abroad.
Record growth in manufacturing sector: 4.26 lakh units in three years
The number of manufacturing units has increased to 4,26,230 in the last three years due to investment friendly policies and pro-industry provisions in the state. 67,332 units were registered in the year 2022-23, which increased to 1,13,696 in 2024-25.
According to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, “The aim of Madhya Pradesh is not just to bring industries but also to create employment and empower self-reliance.” There are currently 20.43 lakh MSME units operating in the state — the majority of which are micro industries. These MSMEs are now contributing 30% to the state’s GDP and providing employment to more than one crore people.

47% participation in women led startups
With the impact of the state’s startup policy, more than 6000 startups have been registered so far, of which about 2900 (47%) are run by women entrepreneurs. Now more than 100 incubation centers have been established in the state – which include Smart City Incubator, Atal Innovation Centre, Agri and Technology Business Incubator.
New flight to innovation through RAMP scheme
Under RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) scheme, incubation centers are being established in all the districts of the state. In the first phase, approval has been received for centers in Bhopal, Harda, Raisen, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Rajgarh and Narmadapuram.
Startup Policy 2025: Seed fund of Rs 30 lakh and capital fund of Rs 100 crore
Under the new policy, innovative youth will no longer have to face lack of financial assistance. The state government has released a seed fund grant of up to Rs 30 lakh and a capital fund of Rs 100 crore for startups, which will help new units in their initial stages.
Mega Incubation Center and Patent Assistance
A mega incubation center is being set up in the state, which will have satellite units in other cities. Additionally, assistance up to Rs 5 lakh for domestic patents and Rs 20 lakh for international patents will be provided — so that the innovation can get global recognition.
Special encouragement to women entrepreneurship
Women-led startups are benefiting from schemes like rental assistance, prototype development funding and online marketing assistance. The new policy also provides for dedicated funds and training programs for women.
Triangle of innovation, employment and self-reliance
The goal of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is clear – “A wave of entrepreneurship in every district, employment in the hands of every youth, and a platform for every innovation.” The new policy of the state has proved that if there is political will and clarity in the policy, any state can reach new heights of economic progress.
