Bhopal/Raipur. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Hawk Force Inspector Ashish Sharma, who was martyred in an encounter with Naxalites. He said that the supreme sacrifice of Inspector Sharma in the national campaign to eradicate Naxal will always be remembered. Inspector Ashish Sharma was awarded the Gallantry Medal twice by the Government of India for indomitable courage and extraordinary bravery in the line of duty.

Injured during encounter, died during treatment

Hawk Force Inspector Ashish Sharma, known for his special bravery, was martyred in an encounter with Naxalites on 19 November. This incident happened when he was patrolling with the force in the forests of Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. During patrolling, Naxalites suddenly opened fire, in which Sharma got injured. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but he died during treatment.

Joint team was running a big campaign

The force was conducting a joint operation in Bebar Tola Dam-Kangura ground and Kurrejhari forest in Rajnandgaon. This operation was being conducted by joint teams of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. This included 3 police parties from Rajnandgaon, 7 from Gondia and 12 from Balaghat. The search operation started in the forest at 6 in the morning. At around 8 o’clock the Naxalites fired three to four rounds at the police, in which Inspector Sharma was seriously injured.

According to the information, Inspector Sharma was shot in the thigh and shoulder in the firing. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance with the help of Additional SP Adarsh ​​Kant Shukla and Baihar SDOP Om Prakash Sharma. But despite the efforts of the doctors, his life could not be saved. Martyr Ashish Sharma was a resident of Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh. He entered the Special Armed Forces in the year 2016 and joined the Hawk Force in 2018. Seeing his bravery, he also got out-of-turn promotion twice.
