Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav met Swiss MP Samuel Garger in Davos. Possibilities of cooperation in tribal welfare, millet production, clean energy, precision manufacturing, skill development of youth and eco-tourism were discussed.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav discussed with Mr. Samuel Gagar, Member of the National Council of the Parliament of Switzerland in Davos. He said that Madhya Pradesh is the state with the highest tribal population in the country. Tribal welfare, sustainable livelihood and inclusive development are the major priorities of the state government.
Tribal empowerment through millet, rural tourism and economic tourism.
The Chief Minister informed about the initiatives related to promotion of millet production, rural tourism and economic tourism. He said that these efforts are directly linked to increasing the income of the tribal community, improving nutrition and strengthening self-reliance.
Cooperation on clean energy, precision manufacturing and digital solutions
Possibilities of cooperation in clean energy technologies, precision manufacturing and digital solutions were discussed in detail in the meeting. It was agreed to further strengthen the industrial capabilities of Madhya Pradesh by taking advantage of Swiss expertise in the areas of industrial automation and sustainability.
Joint efforts in renewable energy, recycling and environmental protection
Possibilities to pursue joint efforts in the areas of renewable energy, recycling and environmental protection also emerged. Both sides stressed the need to promote environment-friendly industrial development.
Proposal to invite Swiss parliamentary representatives from Madhya Pradesh
The proposal to invite Swiss parliamentary representatives to Madhya Pradesh was also discussed. Its objective is to exchange experiences and ideas at the policy level on topics such as environmental protection and industrial transition.
Possible involvement of the Swiss private sector
Possible participation of the Swiss private sector in climate and sustainability related initiatives of Madhya Pradesh was also considered, which could give a new direction to investment and technical cooperation.
Technical training and skill development for youth
It was agreed in the meeting that opportunities for cooperation will be explored to skill the youth of Madhya Pradesh through technical training programs in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Cultural Exchange in Heritage and Eco-Tourism
A plan for cultural exchange programs to present Madhya Pradesh as an attractive heritage and eco-tourism destination for Swiss travelers and to strengthen people-to-people ties was also considered.
