CM Mohan Yadav’s love for Shri Krishna: Madhya Pradesh changing with Geeta recitation, cow service, Sandipani School and Vrindavan Gram Yojana

Devotion to Shri Krishna is reflected in the working style of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. He has given cultural and spiritual direction to Madhya Pradesh through schemes like Geeta Bhawan, Vrindavan Gram Yojana, Gauseva and Sandipani School.

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is busy these days as a star campaigner in Bihar Assembly elections. He is making a deep impact among the public with his simple nature and positive image. Meanwhile, one of his pictures has gone viral on social media. This picture is of November 1, Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day, in which CM Dr. Yadav is seen holding a child in his lap in the form of Shri Krishna. The emotional dialogue between the Chief Minister and the child in the picture is attracting people’s attention. Seeing this, it becomes clear that ‘Mohan i.e. Shri Krishna’ has settled in the mind of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. He remembers Lord Shri Krishna in every stage and speech and makes the public raise slogans of ‘Jai Shri Krishna’.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s identity linked to devotion to Shri Krishna

There is a deep influence of devotion to Shri Krishna in the public image of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Since becoming the Chief Minister, he has repeatedly mentioned the schemes and places related to Shri Krishna. He approved the formation of ‘Shri Krishna Patheya Trust’, so that the sites related to Lord Shri Krishna’s stay in Madhya Pradesh can be conserved and developed.

Dr. Yadav had told that child Krishna had come to Ujjain from Mathura and had learned 64 arts in Maharishi Sandipani Ashram. This journey was only for 64 days, but it made Madhya Pradesh the center of Krishna devotion.

In November 2024, the Cabinet decided to form ‘Shri Krishna Patheya Trust’, which will function under the Madhya Pradesh Public Trust Act 1951. The Chief Minister has said many times – “Wherever the feet of Shri Krishna fall, all those places will become pilgrimage places.”

Priority given to cow service – grant amount increased

Dr. Mohan Yadav has made cow service a priority of his government. He doubled the subsidy given to cow shelters – from Rs 20 per cow to Rs 40 per day. In the state level Gaushala conference held in June 2025, the CM transferred funds to the Gaushalas with a single click. He announced that the Animal Husbandry Department will henceforth be known as Cow Husbandry Department. He believes that “cow service is the soul of Indian culture.”

Geeta Bhavan scheme and mass Gita recitation become world record

CM Dr. Mohan Yadav took historic steps to take the message of Bhagavad Gita to the masses. On 11 December 2024, on Gita Jayanti, a mass Gita recitation was organized in Bhopal, in which more than 7,000 Acharyas and Batukas together recited ‘Karmayoga Adhyay’. This event was recorded in the Guinness World Records. The Chief Minister honored the Acharyas and said that the teachings of Geeta are a guide for both politics and public service.

Along with this he announced that Geeta Bhawans will be built in 413 urban bodies of the state. This will cost around Rs 2,875 crore. This scheme will give a new direction to religious studies, cultural awareness, education and tourism.

Chief Minister Vrindavan Gram Yojana – Every village will become self-reliant

CM Dr. Yadav launched Mukhyamantri Vrindavan Gram Yojana for rural development. This scheme is based on the Vrindavan model inspired by the Leelas of Lord Krishna. In this, every village will be made self-reliant, environment-friendly and culturally rich. After getting approval from the Cabinet, this scheme focuses on cow breeding, organic farming, solar energy and rural tourism.

Incorporation of culture in education- ‘Sandipani School’ started

The Chief Minister renamed CM Rise Schools in the state as ‘Sandipani Schools’. The name is inspired by Maharishi Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain, where Lord Krishna and Balarama received their education. The ‘Sandipani School’ initiative aims to connect the Indian knowledge system with modern education. This will not only raise the level of education but will also increase religious tourism and cultural awareness.

Janmashtami and Govardhan Puja got state status

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav decided to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami and Govardhan Puja as state-level festivals. After Diwali, Govardhan Puja was celebrated as a state holiday in the entire state. A grand event was organized at Ravindra Bhawan in Bhopal, and cow worship was done in the cowshed of the Chief Minister’s residence.

CM said that Govardhan Puja is a symbol of Indian culture and this will strengthen the love for cows. They say on every occasion – “Wherever there is a cow, there is Gokul; the one who serves the cow is Gopal.” This message of his makes clear his love for Shri Krishna. He says- “Shri Ram is smiling in Ayodhya, now Shri Krishna will smile in Mathura.”
