Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated Nohaleshwar Mahotsav in Nohta, Damoh. Announced Geeta Bhawan worth Rs 2 crore, irrigation project worth Rs 600 crore, four lane road and sports stadium. Emphasized on Bundelkhand development, farmers and youth.

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated ‘Nohaleshwar Mahotsav’ by participating in the program organized at Nohta in district Damoh. On this occasion, he also visited an exhibition based on agricultural equipment and agricultural products. The Chief Minister said that the glory of Nohaleshwar Mahadev is such that the person who comes here once, feels like coming again and again. He said that with the blessings of Lord Nohaleshwar Mahadev, the state government is doing the development and public welfare work of the state with full dedication and energy. He said that Nohaleshwar Mahotsav is not only a celebration of faith but also of local culture, tradition and social harmony. The state government is committed to the conservation of religious places and tourism development.

Geeta Bhavan will be built in Damoh with Rs 2 crores, announcement of formation of Nohta Municipal Council

Addressing the farmers’ conference, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced to make Nohta a Municipal Council after trial on the demand of the area. He said that Geeta Bhawan will be constructed in Damoh at a cost of Rs 2 crore. Also, a new irrigation project worth Rs 600 crore will be developed in the district, which will provide adequate water to 33 villages. Water sports, boat club and other tourism activities will also be developed in Damoh at a cost of Rs 10 crore. New stadiums will be built in Tendukheda and Hata to promote sports activities. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also honored the famous bhajan singer Ms. Shahnaz Akhtar.

New plans and four lanes approved for Bundelkhand development

The Chief Minister said that the government is committed to the development of not only Damoh but the entire Bundelkhand. A new scheme worth Rs 165 crore has been approved in Tendukheda. A new four lane road has also been approved for Damoh. Along with tourism, industries are also being promoted in the district. The government is working equally in the education, health and agriculture sectors. To promote organic farming in the district, 69 organic markets have been set up, in which products worth Rs 28 lakh have been sold so far. The Chief Minister described the e-token system for fertilizer distribution as a commendable initiative.

Farmers’ interests paramount: Chief Minister

While addressing the farmers, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that farmers are the food providers of the country and only their prosperity will make the country prosperous. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not compromise with the interests of farmers even in international relations. He said that both farmers in the fields and soldiers on the border deserve respect equally. The state government is also taking care of the health of the farmers and is standing with the people in development works.

Employment to youth and irrigation from Ken-Betwa link.

The Chief Minister said that the development of industrial area in Damoh will provide new employment opportunities to the youth. He said that providing water to dry fields improves crops, hence the Ken-Betwa Link Project will provide water for irrigation to Damoh. He said that for the first time the state government has started celebrating Shri Krishna Janmashtami and Geeta Jayanti on a grand scale. Along with development, Madhya Pradesh is also preserving its cultural heritage.

Nohaleshwar temple is 1100 years old

The Chief Minister said that the Nohaleshwar temple of Nohta is more than 1100 years old. It was built by Queen Nohla during the Kalchuri Empire. Nohaleshwar Festival is giving new identity and momentum to the tourism of the region.
