CM Mohan Yadav said that welfare of farmers is the top priority of the government. MSP ₹ 5328 fixed on soybean, Bhavantar Yojana will compensate for losses. Registration will be mandatory and the government stands with farmers in every crisis.
Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the welfare of farmers is the first and most important priority of the Madhya Pradesh government. He clarified that farmers will not be allowed to lose in any circumstances. The government is constantly making efforts to increase the income of farmers and get them fair price of crops.
The benefit of Bhavantar Scheme will be available on soybean
Dr. Yadav informed that the minimum support price (MSP) for soybean has been declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ₹ 5328 per quintal. Keeping in mind the interest of the farmers, the state government has decided that this year soybean producing farmers will be given direct benefit of Bhavantar Payment Scheme.
Registration will be mandatory in Bhavantar Yojana
The Chief Minister said that farmers will sell soybeans in mandis as before. If the selling price in the market is less than the MSP, then the government will compensate for that deficit. The amount of difference between the selling price and MSP will be deposited in the farmers’ account directly. For this, registration of farmers under Bhavantar Yojana will be mandatory, the process of which will start soon.
This is how compensation will be assessed
Dr. Yadav said that compensation will be calculated at two levels:
- If the average quality yield in the mandi is less than the MSP but more than the average model price announced by the state government, then the farmer will get a difference of MSP and real sale price.
- If the price of yield in the mandi is less than the average model price, the farmer will be given the difference between MSP and the average model price as compensation.
Government with farmers in the hour of crisis
The Chief Minister said that the state government has always stood with the farmers. Earlier, farmers have been given relief money on crop damage. Assistance was provided to the flood affected farmers and relief amount is being given for the crops affected by yellow mosaic disease.
He assured that farmers will not be left alone under any circumstances. Whether it is natural disaster or loss from disease, the government is with farmers at every step.
