CM Mohan Yadav salutes Madhya Pradesh Police, big announcement for the families of martyrs

On the Police Memorial Day organized in Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid tribute to the martyred police personnel. Said, “The one who gives his life on the altar of duty is immortal.” The Chief Minister made several announcements regarding police welfare, recruitment and modernization.

Bhopal. In the Police Memorial Day Parade 2025 organized on Tuesday in the Martyr Memorial courtyard of Lal Parade Ground, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid tribute to the brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives for the security of the country and the state. He said that the bravery, devotion to duty and spirit of service of the martyrs will always remain a source of inspiration.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that since 1959, when 10 of our brave police personnel sacrificed their lives while protecting the country in the Hot Springs area of ​​Ladakh, this day has become a festival of inspiration for us. He said, “The soldier who sacrifices his life at the altar of duty is immortal. This day is a source of inspiration for every person in uniform.”

“The family of martyrs is our family”

Expressing condolences to the families of the martyred policemen, the Chief Minister said that the government, police administration and the entire society is with them. He said that a policy of providing financial assistance of ₹ 1 crore to the families of martyred soldiers has been implemented, which is not just help but a symbol of the morale of the soldiers.

“Madhya Pradesh is an island of peace, criminals are demoralized”

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav proudly said that today Madhya Pradesh is called the island of peace. The credit for this goes to the vigilance, discipline and devotion of the state police. He said that the achievements of the police in the field of Naxalism, Mafia, cyber crime and women’s safety are noteworthy. He said, “Under the policy of zero tolerance, our police eliminated 10 Naxalites with a reward of Rs 1.5 crore last year and took strict action against the terrorists.”

“Creation, safe click and distance from drugs, a wave of change in the society”

The Chief Minister praised the ‘Srijan’, ‘Safe Click-Surakshit Jeevan’ and ‘Nashe se doori hai zaroori’ campaigns being run by the police. He said that these campaigns have instilled new thinking and public awareness in the society. He said that the single facility center started in Balaghat district has become a new symbol of security and development.

Increased transparency and speed through digital policing

Dr. Yadav said that all the police stations have been digitally connected through CCTNS system, due to which police, court, prosecution and forensic departments have been integrated. This has brought transparency in investigation and hearing. He said that the state police deserves congratulations for the successful implementation of the new criminal laws applicable from July 2024.

“Police is the first support of the public in difficult times”

The Chief Minister said that whenever any crisis occurs, the public first remembers the police. He praised the prompt CPR given by a police personnel in Indore to save the life of MLA Madhu Verma and said that this is an excellent example of the sensitivity and promptness of the police force.

Big announcement on police housing, welfare and recruitment

The Chief Minister said that the government is paying special attention to the welfare and modernization of police personnel. He told –

  • More than 25,000 police houses are being built at a cost of ₹5700 crore.
  • Every year approximately 7,500 posts will be recruited.
  • A target has been set to fill 21,000 posts in three years.

“The loyalty of the martyrs is our inspiration” -DGP Makwana

Director General of Police Kailash Makwana said that Police Memorial Day is a day of reverence, remembrance and resolve. He told that this year 11 brave soldiers of the state police have been martyred. The DGP said, “Since October 21, 1959, 1,009 soldiers of Madhya Pradesh have been martyred on the altar of duty. Their sacrifice is our inspiration and the safety of their families is our responsibility.”

Tribute parade amidst patriotic tunes

Patriotic tunes were played by the police band during the programme. Senior officers and retired police officers paid floral tributes to the martyrs. The parade was led by IPS officer SDOP Sarvpriya Sinha, while II-C trainee DSP Hemant Pandey led the parade. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav met the families of the martyred policemen and expressed his condolences and paid homage.
