Cloudburst Hits Jammu-Kashmir’s Kulgam, Triggers Flash Floods | Watch

Jagran Correspondent, Srinagar: A cloudburst struck Nandi Marg in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday evening. As a result, the water flow suddenly increased, triggering fash floods in the area.

Just two days ago, on Monday, the weather took a sudden turn, causing widespread devastation in Jammu and Kashmir. Flash floods following cloudbursts in Shopian, Kupwara, Pulwama, and Anantnag districts affected residential areas, flooding homes and disrupting road connectivity.

In Shopian, rescue teams evacuated around 80. A woman was killed after she was swept away in the strong current of flood waters in the Lolab area of Kupwara.

Heavy rains disrupted traffic near the Langnai Bridge on the Aishmuqam-Pahalgam road. The Langnai Batkoot Bridge was also damaged by the strong water flow. Following a cloudburst in the upper reaches of Shopian, water suddenly surged through the Javura, Badrahama, and Kijarsinda areas. Several houses were flooded, causing panic among locals.
