Rudrapur. A sensational case of a 25-year-old woman being raped in a moving car on the pretext of giving lift has come to light in Rudrapur, Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand. This incident is being reported from the Transit Camp area of Rudrapur.
As usual, the victim was going from home to her work in Pantnagar in the morning. On the way, two people gave him a lift and assured him that they would drop him safely to his destination. But little did the woman know that this lift would become the scariest journey of her life.
Did taking the lift prove to be the biggest mistake?
According to the victim, after going some distance the accused changed the route of the car. The woman protested, but her voice was ignored. After this, one of the accused went to the back seat and raped her in the moving vehicle itself. All this happened so suddenly that the woman could not understand anything.
How did this brutality happen in a moving car?
The woman says that the accused took the car to a completely deserted road. After raping her in a moving vehicle, they left her at a deserted place and ran away. Somehow the victim gathered courage and reached the police.
How did the police get solid evidence?
Based on the woman’s complaint, the police took immediate action. On Monday, FIR was registered under sections 70(1) and 351(2) of BNS. After this, on Tuesday, the police arrested the first accused (34 years) from his house and also recovered the car used in the crime. The district forensic team collected the victim’s hair and other important evidence from the car. On the basis of the same evidence, the second accused, 36, was also arrested on the same day.
Who was conducting the operation, how was the arrest made?
This entire operation was carried out jointly by the Special Operations Group (SOG) and the city police. Police say that the evidence is strong and strict action will be taken against the accused.
