Classic Defender V8 Returns With New Colours And Features From Defender OCTA

Land Rover is now offering fully restored Classic Defender V8s that can be customised to match the new Defender OCTA, which is the latest high-performance beast in the Defender family.

This means you can have a classic-looking Defender with colours, interiors and details inspired by the most extreme Defender made today.

Land Rover Classic will build these retro-themed SUVs in 90, 110 Station Wagon or 90 Soft Top body styles. What makes them special is the new colour palette borrowed from the Defender OCTA.

New shades include- Petra Copper (OCTA-exclusive), Faroe Green, Sargasso Blue, Narvik Black (OCTA Black Edition) and Patagonia White. These shades are included with the existing colours like Borasco Grey, Carpathian Grey and Charente Grey.

To ensure perfection, every Defender V8 spends around 300 hours in the paint shop, where the team carefully prepares, paints, matches and polishes the vehicle. Buyers can choose between a glossy finish or a satin finish similar to the OCTA’s Matte Protective Film.

For the first time, Classic Defender customers can choose ultra-modern materials such as Ultrafabrics PU in Khaki Green, Light Cloud and Lunar, and those who prefer premium leather can pick Burnt Sienna or Ebony leather.

Customers can even go all-in with hand-trimmed heated Recaro seats and work with Land Rover Classic’s design team to match interior colours on the dashboard, steering wheel, door trims and even the headliner.

Although these SUVs look vintage, they drive nothing like an old 4×4. Each one is rebuilt using donor vehicles from 2012-2016 and upgraded with 405PS 5.0-litre V8 engine, eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox with sport mode, upgraded suspension with custom springs and dampers, improved steering system and stronger brakes with large discs and four-piston calipers. Customers also get optional goodies like modern infotainment, crystal lighting, 16- or 18-inch wheels in many finishes and adventure accessories.

These custom Defender V8s start at £190,000 (plus taxes) and come with a one-year unlimited mileage warranty. And interestingly, you don’t need to own a Defender OCTA to order one. Land Rover Classic will build you a fully personalised Classic Defender V8 from scratch through its Works Bespoke programme.
