A massive clash broke out between Trinamool Congress and BJP workers outside the Chief Electoral Officer office in Kolkata yesterday. The dispute escalated so much that the police had to remove the workers by lathi charge, and central forces were also deployed on the spot. Meanwhile, BJP workers also reached the spot and alleged that one of their members was assaulted. In protest against this, BJP also started protesting in front of the CEO office. The atmosphere became tense due to sloganeering and protests between the two sides. Although now the situation is controlled to some extent, the atmosphere still remains tense. Heavy security forces are deployed at the CEO office and surrounding roads. Police and central forces are continuously patrolling the spot and workers from both sides are being kept under watch.
