Donald Trump Calls Narendra Modi: US President Donald Trump wants to talk to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but Modi is not picking up the phone. In the last few weeks, Trump tried to talk four times, but refused PM Modi. This claim is made by the German newspaper Frankfarter Algemin (FAZ).
Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed to stop the fight between India and Pakistan in May. The Government of India has denied its truth. It is clear that it was decided to stop the struggle on Pakistan’s appeal. There is no role of the third country in this. In such a situation, FAZ has claimed that Modi is not receiving the false Trump’s phone.
India-US relations deteriorated with 50% tariff of Donald Trump
Donald Trump first imposed 25% tariff on imports from India. Later, he said that 25% of additional tariffs were made to buy Russian oil. The total tariff has increased to 50%. This has spoiled Indo-US relations. Trump has also made rhetoric against India.
Trump said on 31 July, “I don’t care what India does to Russia. They can together bring down their dead economies.” On August 10, PM Modi indirectly sarcasted Trump’s statement with the “dead economy”. Said that India is moving towards becoming one of the top three economies in the world. Pointing to the tariff imposed by Trump, the PM said on 25 August, “No matter how much the pressure comes, we will increase our strength to bear it”.
Talk on phone between Narendra Modi and Donald Trump on 17 June
According to India’s Foreign Ministry, Narendra Modi and Donald Trump spoke on the phone on 17 June. Both were to meet during the G-7 summit in Canada, but Trump returned to America before the scheduled time. The Ministry of External Affairs said on 18 June, “The two leaders spoke on the phone on July 17 at the request of President Trump. The conversation lasted for about 35 minutes.”

The Ministry of External Affairs said that Trump expressed its condolences on the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam and expressed support against terrorism. This was the first conversation between Narendra Modi and Donald Trump after Operation Sindoor.
