Along with running the Confident Group, he did many social works and also contributed to the film-entertainment world.

Businessman CJ Roy was also the producer of a total of 11 films including Kannada and Malayalam. He had made Malayalam films like Casanova (2012), Ladies and Gentlemen (2013), My Who Moosa (2022) and Identity (2025). He had made a lot of headlines by paying Rs 50 lakh for the last season i.e. ‘Bigg Boss Kannada 11’. Also, he was one of the sponsors of Star Suvarna’s reality show ‘Star Singer’.

Recently, his company was facing repeated IT raids. It is being said that businessman CJ Roy committed suicide due to this reason. He committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in his foster home. Recently, the Income Tax Department had raided CJ Roy several times in the case of disproportionate assets.
