Major Vikrant Jaitly, brother of Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley, has been in detention in the UAE for 14 months. Delhi High Court has directed the Central Government to ensure legal help and maintain contact with the family.
Major Vikrant Jaitly Detention: Retired Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, brother of Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly, has been under house arrest in UAE for 14 months. He has been kept there due to an alleged national security case. Selina is hoping for her brother’s return and now she has seen a ray of hope. Actually, Delhi High Court has directed the Central Government to take necessary steps for Vikrant and provide him legal help. The court recognized Celina as Vikrant’s only immediate blood relative and asked the authorities to facilitate communication between her and her brother. Now Celina’s reaction on the whole matter has come to light.
Celina Jaitley’s pain regarding her brother
Celina Jaitley expressed her pain on social media and wrote, “A soldier’s story. Standing for a soldier. A ray of hope in the Delhi High Court in the case of Major (Retd) Vikrant Kumar Jaitley. I am writing this with utmost gratitude from the doors of the Delhi High Court. After almost 14 months, I have seen a ray of light at the end of the dark tunnel. I have just come out of the Honorable Delhi High Court, where my brother Major “My writ petition related to (retd) Vikrant Kumar Jaitley was heard in open court.”
Celina further wrote, “Hon’ble Justice Sachin Dutta issued notice on my petition and directed the government to file a status report. He has also appointed a nodal officer to coordinate all assistance and facilitate contact in the case of my brother Major (Retd) Vikrant Kumar Jaitley, Indian Army, Infantry, 3 Para, ex-Serviceman of Special Forces, who is a victim of enforced disappearance and subsequent detention for 9 months.”
Celina Jaitley appealed to the Indian Government
Showing support for her brother, Celina further wrote, “Brother, you fought for us and now it’s time for us to stand with you. For a year I have been searching for answers for you. Now I am praying to our respected government to fight for you and bring you back safely. My government, the only institution on which I have complete trust, is the Government of India. And I am sure that they will do everything possible to protect this fourth generation soldier, son of war veterans, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Who have dedicated everything, their entire youth, in the service of our nation and are COAS gallantry commendation holders.”
Celina Jaitley refused to answer the media
Celina Jaitley writes, “Indian soldiers are being targeted abroad for unknown reasons. I request the government to help and ensure the safety of our defenders. I stand with my brother as he goes through the test that God has chosen for us. I will not be able to answer any questions from the media or press at this time.” For this, Celina has given the number of her lawyer Raghav Kakkar and has advised people that they can contact him for answers to any questions. The next hearing of the case will be on 6 December 2025.
What is the whole matter of Celina Jaitley’s brother?
According to the writ petition filed in Delhi High Court, retired Major Vikrant Kumar Singh was put under house arrest in UAE on 6 September 2024. Since then, Celina has not had any information related to her well-being. Vikrant was living in UAE since 2016 and was working for Matity Group, a company involved in trading, consultancy and risk management.
