In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, we often hear about rivalries, drama, and controversy, but some actors have managed to make the audience smile both on screen and off screen and spread a positive aura.
One such similar story is of Chunky Panday. From his cheeky humour to his effortless charm and his timeless “Aakhri Pasta” dialogue, he has been a fan favourite and continues to resonate with the audience even today.
In a recent interview, he appeared with Govinda on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna’s talk show Two Much and spoke about a tale that had everyone going down memory lane, laughing. The episode, brimming with nostalgia, laughter, and 90s camaraderie, had Chunky speaking about two unforgettable chapters from his life. One was pure mischief, and the other, pure destiny.
Why did Chunky Panday sabotage Govinda’s film?
Chunky made an honest and shocking confession about how he once tried to sabotage one of Govinda’s blockbuster films. He said, “Ek baarGovinda ki picture release hui thina, woh hit jane walithi picture, tohmehne tickets black meh khareedkeaadhebhau meh beche, taki picture ki report kharabhojaye.”
(“One of his movies was supposed to be a super-hit. So, I purchased the tickets from the black market and sold them at half the price to tarnish the movie’s image.” Twinkle Khanna, who was shocked and surprised by his confession, burst out laughing and called Chunky a “jugaaduaadmi” (resourceful man).
When Chunky Panday accidentally became an actor
Besides this, he revealed another story about how he accidentally became a superstar in Bangladesh, thanks to an unexpected flight detour. He said, “Main plane meh ja rahatha Hong Kong, woh engine trouble hogayatohwoh plane Dhaka meh uthra. Plane land huatohphir hum airport se nikle and wahamujhe ek producer mila.” (“I was on the way to Hong Kong. The plane’s engine acted up, and we had to halt at Dhaka. After landing, we exited and met a producer.” This meeting changed his life forever. “Bola Bangladeshi picture kartehai. Meh bola, chalo, meh Hong Kong se hokaraata hu, and I started my first film,” he added.
