Chota Nagpur Royals secure semi-final place as Santhal Strikers finish strongly

The Jharkhand T20 Cricket League 2026 league stage concluded with the Chota Nagpur Royals earning the final semi-final spot after a decisive victory over the Jamshedpur Steelers, while the Santhal Strikers ended their campaign positively with a win against the Dhanbad Diamonds at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on June 22.

In the afternoon match, the Royals set a formidable target of 211 for 4 in 20 overs. Player of the Match Virat Singh scored an unbeaten 106 off 58 balls, with MD Nazim Siddiqui providing strong support by scoring 54 from 32 balls. The pair established an 88-run opening partnership before Siddiqui’s dismissal. Shresth Sagar added a vital 25 runs from 20 balls to maintain the momentum. For the Steelers, bowlers Harsh Rana (1/29), Aman Kumar Singh (1/30), Pranjal Kumar (1/36), and Pratik Ranjan (1/50) each took a wicket but could not contain the Royals’ total.

The Steelers struggled in their chase of 212, being bowled out for 126 in 19.1 overs after a top-order collapse saw six wickets fall with just 38 runs on the board. Harsh Rana’s resilient innings of 46 off 35 balls was a lone bright spot, while Shakti Singh contributed 22 runs from 34 balls. Rahul Rajak led the Royals’ bowling with figures of 3/11 in 2 overs, supported by Deepanshu Rawat’s 2/25 from 4 overs.

In the evening fixture, the Dhanbad Diamonds were dismissed for 106 in 18.1 overs, with Ram Raushan scoring 32 off 20 balls and Vikash Kumar Vishal making 26 from 17 balls. The Santhal Strikers’ bowlers Sanjeet Sharma (4/10) and Anmol Raj (4/20), both earning player of the match honours, dismantled the Diamonds’ batting line-up.

The Strikers achieved the target swiftly, reaching 107 for 1 in 11.5 overs with nine wickets and 49 balls remaining. Kumar Suraj led with an unbeaten 53 off 34 balls, complemented by Vibhor Pandey’s 32 from 27 balls. Vivekanand Tiwari took the sole wicket for the Diamonds, conceding 28 runs.

With the league stage completed, the tournament advances to the knockout phase at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on June 22.
