Everyone gets worried on hearing the name of cholesterol because people think that increasing cholesterol will surely lead to heart attack, but it is not so.
If cholesterol starts increasing beyond a regular limit, it is not a serious disease but a sign of a bad lifestyle. Cholesterol can be easily controlled by making changes in daily routine.
First let us understand in simple language what is cholesterol. Cholesterol is a type of sticky white colored fat, which is found in the cells and arteries. Cholesterol is also essential for our body, because without it the absorption of vitamins is affected. It is also helpful in producing hormones. When the amount of fat (cholesterol) increases in our body, it is called bad cholesterol. This fat puts pressure on the artery cells and hinders the functioning of the heart, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Many ways to control cholesterol have been suggested in Ayurveda. The first is the consumption of garlic. Garlic has the ability to reduce bad cholesterol. For this, eating two cloves of roasted garlic on an empty stomach in the morning will provide relief. It can also be taken with lukewarm water. The second solution is fenugreek seeds. Fiber is found in high quantity in fenugreek seeds. If fenugreek seeds are eaten on an empty stomach in the morning or its water is drunk, cholesterol can be controlled. However, consume water not regularly, but every other day.
The third solution is the decoction of Arjuna bark. The bark of Arjuna is considered to cure heart diseases. In Ayurveda, it is advised to drink decoction of Arjuna bark in case of heart diseases. It helps in increasing good cholesterol by reducing bad cholesterol. The fourth solution is coriander water.
Coriander water works to detoxify the liver. If the liver works properly then cholesterol is not produced in large quantities. The liver is responsible for making cholesterol. Along with this, if cholesterol has increased then avoid greasy foods and junk food.
