One and a half cup sweet potato puree (about 420 grams), 2 eggs. 1 teaspoon maple syrup, half cup cacao powder approximately 43 grams. Apart from this, you can also take some other things which will enhance the taste of the cake, but these are optional, like one spoon vanilla extract, one fourth spoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon espresso powder. For cake frosting, you will need half cup dark chocolate tips and 2 teaspoons heavy cream (at room temperature).

How to make cake

  • Break eggs into a large bowl. Also add maple syrup and vanilla extract to it and beat all three things well.
  • When all three things are mixed, add sweet potato puree to it and keep stirring until it swells well and it starts feeling light.
  • Sieve cocoa powder and salt in the prepared paste. All things have to be whipped until your batter looks smooth and fluffy.
  • Pour this batter in the cake pan that you had already prepared and spread it evenly with the help of a spatula.
  • Now you have to lightly tap the cake pan on the counter for some time so that the air bubbles present inside the batter come out.
  • Let the cake bake for about 1 hour. After this, take it out and let it cool on a wire rack for about half an hour and then after that you can keep it in the freezer.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a small bowl in a double boiler. After this add cream kept at room temperature.
  • Mix both the things well till they become completely smooth. After this, take out the cake from the fridge and spread the chocolate-cream mixture evenly on it.
  • To make the cake more delicious and garnish it, add some grated chocolate on top. Your chocolate sweet potato cake is ready.
