China’s game in rare earth is over, India’s friend discovered ‘treasure’ in the sea, dragon lost its sleep!

rare earth material

Rare earth minerals: Till now, China has had unilateral control over the rare earth metals on which the world’s technology and modern warfare depends. But now this monopoly of Dragon is on the verge of breaking. After the sanctions imposed by China in the year 2025, India’s friend Japan has taken a step which has created a stir in Beijing. In fact, a huge Japanese ship has set out to cross the ocean to extract those precious minerals for which the world was till now dependent on China.

Preparation to bring ‘mud’ from Hades

According to news agency Reuters, Japan’s test vessel ‘Chikyu’ is moving towards Minamitori Island, about 1,900 kilometers away from Tokyo. The mission of this ship is very complex, it has to go 6 kilometers (4 miles) below the surface of the sea and bring the mud present there to the surface.

Scientists believe that there is a huge store of rare earth metals hidden in this mud of the ocean floor. This will be the first time in the world that mud will be continuously extracted from such depth and examined. There is a crew of 130 people and a team of researchers present on this ship, which will return after completing this mission by 14th February.

There will be a permanent brake on China’s arbitrariness

The role of rare earth metals is like the backbone in making the smartphones we use today, the electric cars we are dreaming of, or the missile systems deployed for the country’s security. Till now Japan and western countries were dependent on China for these minerals. But amidst the ongoing diplomatic disputes with Beijing, China has imposed many restrictions on the export of these essential minerals. To avoid this ‘blackmailing’ of China, Japan is now taking steps towards self-reliance. If this mission is successful, then China’s dominance over supplies in the technology sector may end.

7 years of penance and testimony of Mount Fuji

According to the report, the Japanese government was preparing for this for the last seven years. Shoichi Ishii, head of this government-supported project, said that this moment was very emotional for him. When his ship departed from Shizuoka Port, snow-covered Mount Fuji was visible in the background. Shoichi Ishii believes that extracting resources from 6 kilometers below the sea level will be a great achievement technically. This success will completely change Japan’s resource procurement methods.

Japan’s counterattack on Dragon

Let us tell you that just last week, China has banned the export of ‘dual-use’ goods and certain minerals used by Japan’s military and civilians. According to Japanese media reports, China is considering expanding this ban further.
