In Japan, PM Modi mentioned Chandrayaan-5 and he will be on a tour of China on 31 August.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to China. He will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Tianjin on 31 August. Along with this, Chinese President Xi will take part in a bilateral meeting with Jinping. Earlier on August 29, PM Modi was in Japan. TheyOn the very first day of Japan tour, mentioned the Chandrayaan Mission-5 of India. This statement given by him on Japan’s land has many meanings.
This was said by the PM to India for India, the other two major countries of Asia, China and Japan. Both countries have created a strong identity in the space sector with their achievements.
Know how the space program started in Japan and China, what history did the two countries create in the space sector and where is the country standing in the competition of space?
Japan records in the world of space
- In 2003, Japan launched a probe named Hayabusa-1 which became the first vehicle to land on an asteroid. It created history by bringing back samples of asteroid’s asteroid on Earth in 2010.
- Hayebusa-2 was launched in 2014 and brought samples from asteroid Rugu in 2019. This surprised the global science world as this operation was extremely complex and accurate.
- Japan sent a selene under the Chandra Mission in 2007, which gave valuable data about the surface and gravity of the moon.
- Japan is currently partnership with the US, Russia, Europe and Canada in the International Space Station (ISS).
- Japan Aero Space Exploration Agency (Jaxa) has the largest research module of ISS.
- Japan has not yet sent humans independently into space, but Jaxa astronauts have gone from American and Russian vehicles.
What records did China make in space?
- In 2003, China sent its first astronaut Yang Livei from Shenzho-5 vehicle.
- After this, many manned missions were successfully. With this, China became the third human space power in the world after the Soviet Union and America.
- In 2007, China sent the first Chandrayaan (Change-1).
- In 2013, the Change-3 mission launched Yutu rover on the moon.
- In the year 2019, Change-4 created the first history by landing on the remote part of the moon.
- In the year 2020, soil and stones samples from the Change-5 Moon were successful in bringing it to Earth.
- In the year 2020, China started work on Mars Mission and sent Tianvan-1.
- In 2021, his rover land landed on the surface of Jhurong Mars.
- After America, China became the second country which successfully raised the rover on the surface of Mars.
- China has started creating its own space station – Tiangong.
- Since 2021, many modules have been added to it and it is working completely.
- This is a proof of China’s independent space power as China could not get entry into the ISS.
- China has its own satellite and navigation system.
- China developed its Beedou Navigation System, which serves independent positioning like GPS in the US, Glonass in Russia and Galileo of Europe.
- China thus became the fourth country in the world which has a full satellite-based navigation system.
What is Japan’s plan next?
- By 2030, work is being done towards sending human missions on the moon.
- Japan is an important partner in America’s Artemis Program and is collaborating in plans to create a lunar base.
- It also has special emphasis on asteroid investigation and deep space missions.
What will China do now?
- The target of landing Chinese astronauts on the moon by 2030.
- The ambitious plan to bring a sample from Mars.
- Work on making Tiangong more large and long -running stations.
- Strengthen deep space network.
In this way we find that both Japan and China have given a new height to the space ambitions of Asia. Japan’s strength is its scientific research and international cooperation. Especially the contribution to asteroid missions and space stations gave it a different identity. China’s strength is its freedom and aggressive progress. Successful complex campaigns on human missions, moon and Mars have made it stand on the equality of America and Russia.
If seen in the context of Prime Minister Modi’s Chandrayaan-5 discussion, then the path of India seems to be a mixed strategy of these two countries. Japan’s scientific understanding and the self -reliant ambition of China, this Asian triangle of space in the coming times, India, China and Japan will definitely succeed in giving a new look to the global space landscape. There are many reasons to believe so in the changing scenario.
