Make in Silicon Seminar 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated the ‘Make in Silicon’ seminar at IIIT Nava Raipur. He said that Chhattisgarh will become a technology and innovation hub. The semiconductor unit will provide employment to the youth and new identity to the state.

Raipur, 7 November 2025. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the two-day ‘Make in Silicon’ seminar organized at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Nava Raipur. This program has been organized on the 10th foundation day of the institute. The Chief Minister said that this event is an important step to take India forward in the direction of semiconductor manufacturing and technological self-reliance.

Silver Jubilee Year of Chhattisgarh and 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram

The Chief Minister said that this year is historic for Chhattisgarh as the state is celebrating its silver jubilee year and the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ is also being celebrated on the same day. He congratulated the people of the state and the IIIT family on this occasion. He reminded that this institute is established in the name of the great educationist Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, who linked education, industrial development and unity to the progress of the nation.

Steps towards India’s technological self-reliance

Chief Minister Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made historic achievements in the field of semiconductor mission, electronics and chip manufacturing. The Chief Minister said that semiconductor has today become the backbone of every technology – be it mobile, satellite, defense system or Artificial Intelligence. He said that initiatives like ‘Make in Silicon’ will give a new direction to India’s chip revolution, and Chhattisgarh is ready to actively participate in it.

New industrial policy for semiconductor sector

The Chief Minister said that special provisions have been included for the semiconductor sector in the new industrial policy of the state. He said that Chhattisgarh has skilled human resources, strong industrial infrastructure, uninterrupted power supply and favorable environment for technological development. Bhoomi pujan has been done for the establishment of semiconductor unit in Nava Raipur, which will provide employment to thousands of youth. Nava Raipur is now being developed as an IT and innovation hub.

Direction will be provided from ‘Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision Document’

Chief Minister Sai said that the ‘Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision Document’ of the state government focuses on sustainable development, in which the semiconductor sector has been given prominence. He said that the government is now focusing not only on Ease of Doing Business but also on Speed ​​of Doing Business.

Welcoming the academicians and experts from across the country, the Chief Minister said that this seminar will benefit not only Chhattisgarh but the entire country. Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary said that at one time there was no national level institute in Chhattisgarh, but under the leadership of Dr. Raman Singh, today prestigious institutes like IIT, IIM, NIT, HNLU, AIIMS and IIIT have been established in the state. He said that today’s era is of technology-driven economy. Recently, Microsoft’s server downing affected operations across the world, proving that technology is the backbone of every sector today.
