Every version of Fara has a completely different taste. Do try Fara made from rice once in winter.
1. Leftover Rice Fara
If you have leftover rice, it makes soft fara. Mash the rice and prepare a soft dough by adding rice flour, salt, cumin, green chilli, coriander and some oil to it. Roll into small cylinder shapes and steam for 12-15 minutes. Add light seasoning – mustard seeds, garlic, curry leaves and green chillies – and serve. This fara is very light and digestion-friendly.
2. Only rice flour fara
Rice flour is kneaded to make Fara. Heat water in a pan, add salt and some oil to it. When the water starts boiling, add rice flour little by little and stir continuously. Turn off the gas and cover it and let it rest for 10 minutes. When the mixture cools down slightly, knead it and make a soft dough. Make desired shape and steam for 10-12 minutes. This fara is very soft and perfect for morning breakfast.
