Chhath, the greatest festival of folk faith, started from today with Nahay Khaye. During the festival of Chhath, devotees worship him and especially offer Arghya to the Sun God and wish for the fulfillment of their wishes. Chhath festival starts with Nahay Khay on the Chaturthi day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. The fast ends by offering Kharna on Panchami, Arghya to the setting sun on Shashthi and Arghya to the rising sun on Saptami. Surya and Chhathi Maiya are worshiped in this four-day festival. Fasting on this day is considered very difficult because this fast is kept for 36 hours according to strict rules.
